Almost all the reefs in the area are diveable throughout the year, and afford excellent diving during the warm sunny days that are common even during the rainy season. The reasons for this fortunate phenomenon are that there are, unlike along most of the Kenya coastline, no fringing reefs to cross, and there’s always a leeward (or land) side to the islands where the water should be calm and clear.
There are more than 10 dive sites — varying from 5 to 30+ metres in the area – and because of the first-rate diving opportunities in the area, we opened in 1995 a dive base ( PADI & BSAC registered) where all modern diving facilities and equipment is available. The Charlie Claw’s dive team (1 instructor and 2 dive masters) are always friendly, competent and helpful.
